Manchester City fans enjoyed hitting back at Aston Villa's home support on behalf of Fabian Delph yesterday.
Boos and jeers filled Villa Park whenever he touched the ball and toy snakes were waved from the terraces, says Mail on Sunday.
The travelling supporters, meanwhile, had their response ready.
"Fabian Delph he's staying up," they sang about relegation-threatened Villa – to which the man himself applauded the away end.
Even before kick-off, the trains heading towards Villa Park were filled with songs about Delph.
"He's going to Wembley," the visitors from Manchester sang, referring to their upcoming Capital One Cup final against Liverpool in February.
