Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle revealed UEFA President Michel Platini and Bayern Munich supremo Karl-Heinz Rummenigge both admitted the Viola were unfortunate in defeat last night.
The 2-1 defeat at Bayern Munich was wracked by controversy, as Massimo Gobbi was harshly sent off, Miroslav Klose avoided a straight red for his studs-on-ankle challenge and then scored a late goal that was clearly offside.
Della Valle said: "I've never seen anything like it. I was in the stands with Platini and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. They too confessed the goal was offside and that it was a yellow not a red card for Massimo Gobbi."
"But what's it all for? What's the point? We have to stay with the lads and reassure them," continued a disheartened Della Valle.
"We saw tonight what a great performance they put in and we can turn this around, but losing a game like this is horrible.
"I really can't explain the linesman's actions. Seeing it on the television footage is truly embarrassing."
