Della Valle insists Fiorentina want Prandelli stay

Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle says they want coach Cesare Prandelli to stay.

The Viola have lost five of their last seven games and currently lie 11th in Serie A.

A banner hung outside the Artemio Franchi on Sunday read: "Prandelli, the cycle is over."

But Della Valle says: "There isn't a problem with Prandelli. Perhaps we are dealing with a gesture from a Siena fan who was passing through Florence. It's a difficult moment. Tomorrow we have the right chance to start again. We raise our game in the Champions League.

"The important thing is to ensure that misfortune abandons us. I have seen the lads with the right anger. We know that Bayern are one of the teams who are most in form in Europe right now together with Chelsea and Manchester United, but I am holding out hope…

"We are trying to ease off the pressure that we feel around us at the moment. Gilardino is a goalscorer, he will end his drought."
