Del Piero convinced Juventus title tilt back on
Juventus captain Alex del Piero is convinced their Scudetto tilt is back on after the hiding they gave Sampdoria in midweek.
Juve face Napoli this weekend on the back of their 5-1 victory over Samp.
“The game against Sampdoria makes us look to the future with great optimism, the team has given its best and the result rewards the performance, the work and the play against a very difficult opponent,” Del Piero said.
“And now onwards with Napoli. I have celebrated from the stands, but it's too soon. I want to do it on the pitch with my team-mates!
“Moreover, the three points against Sampdoria accompany a very important moment for the club.”
On the change of president, with Jean-Claude Blanc succeeding Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, Del Piero added: “I would like to send back these words, and give a big thanks to him for what he has done in these difficult times, for having fought at our side to achieve the best results and helping us come out from the most difficult period in our history, and for having personally supported me in the last three years.
“Blanc will succeed him. He has also been with us since Serie B, and he'll know how to inherit Cobolli Gigli's position, uniting the role of President with the others he has held up until now.”
