Atalanta have named Luigi del Neri as new coach.

"This afternoon there was a handshake agreement between Del Neri and President Ivan Ruggeri," said an Atalanta statement yesterday. "The contracts will be signed on Monday."

The Orobici had been looking for a new tactician following Stefano Colantuono's decision to move to Palermo.

Del Neri was out of contract, as he was released by Chievo after their relegation into Serie B.
