Dein: You can never write-off Wenger's Arsenal

Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein has hailed Arsene Wenger for the way he has built the club during his reign as manager.

"Everyone thought Arsenal was finished, but now look at the new generation of players performing in the English Premier League. Emmanuel Adebayor has scored in eight consecutive matches," Dein told the Daily Monitor. "He is a miracle worker."

Dein was in Africa to take in the African Cup of Nations and he met former Chelsea chief Jose Mourinho.

The 65-year-old was quick to point out that the meeting was purely social.

"Jose had just arrived in Accra. There was nothing special about it. It was purely social," he said.
