Jermain Defoe's £9million move from Spurs to Portsmouth is being probed by City of London police, reports The Mirror. City of London Police refused to comment but Mirror Sport can reveal that they have spoken to key players in the deal.
FA chiefs have also looked at the transfer. Their Quest enquiry is aimed at investigating illegal payments in transfer deals.
