Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has welcomed new signing Dame N'Doye.

N'Doye signed last week on loan from Trabzonspor until the end of the season.

Defoe said: “It's nice to see another forward come in.

“In training you can see straight away that he's a good, strong player. He's someone that will help the team and provide a presence up front.

“He gives the manager a different option, he'll score goals and it's good to have someone like that here."
