Defoe wants long term career stay with Tottenham

Jermain Defoe has revealed his wish to stay at Tottenham for the rest of his career. The 27-year-old England striker, currently sidelined by an ankle injury, is relishing Spurs' involvement in the Champions League for the first time.

And he'd love to continue playing under Harry Redknapp, who he says "has shown himself to be right up there with the best in the business".

Defoe told the Daily Mirror: "Everything about the club tells you they are going in the right direction and I want to remain a part of that.

"You'd have to crazy not to want to stay a part of that. So yes, I want to stay for the rest of my career because I believe Tottenham will go on to establish themselves in the top four under Harry."
