Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe was delighted with victory over Liverpool this week.

A 2-1 win over Liverpool last night helped them move up to fifth in the Barclays Premier League.

"I thought the performance last night was great. It was a massive win," Defoe said.

"Character's key and the lads who've come in have been fantastic. To have a great team you need team spirit and we've definitely got that.

"With the quality we've got it's important to go on a run and we're capable of doing that."
