Defoe: Tottenham have the right-stuff to win the Premier League

Jermain Defoe believes that Tottenham have what it takes to lift the Premier League title. The England striker has likened the current attitude at White Hart Lane to that of title-winning players at Manchester United.

"The manager (Redknapp) has said there's no reason why we can't win the league. If it's not this year, then the year after," said the 28-year-old.

"The way the league has been going, I suppose it's there for a lot of teams.

"It's different at Spurs now, especially after last season. Every game we think 'Do you know what? We can win this'.

"It is not a case of going somewhere and thinking 'Well, we could get a draw. That would be good enough'.

"When you look round the training ground, you think 'Wow this is the club'. This is where you want to be.

"We are sharp, the movement is great and the best thing is we take that into the games. We create chances, are good to watch and you know you have to play well to be in the team."

Ever since Defoe first trained with the England squad, he saw the will to win from the Red Devils contingent that he is eager to emulate.

"The Manchester United players, the likes of Rio, Phil Neville, Gary Neville, Becks, in little five-a-sides, they want to win every game. And if they don't win they are moaning.

"Gary Neville never stopped. It was amazing. We would train and in the evening they were still talking about it.

"It didn't matter what game they were playing in, they wanted to win. I think that's a great thing to have and it's important we have that."
