Jermain Defoe is set for just his eighth Premier League start of the season when Tottenham meet Manchester City this weekend.
The England international is likely to be in the starting eleven in the absence of Emmanuel Adebayor who is unavailable to play against his parent club at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp indicated that Defoe, who has netted seven goals in seven starts (15 league appearances in total) this season, will start whilst giving a slight chance to injury-prone defender Ledley King. He did, however, rule out William Gallas and Sandro who both sustained calf injuries against West Bromwich Albion on January 3.
"Gallas and Sandro are jogging but they're not fit yet. They're running at about 60 per cent so they're a little way off yet.
"Ledley's not trained. The last time I saw him on the training pitch would have been about four weeks ago - but it's not impossible that tomorrow morning he could come out and train, so I wouldn't write him off.""I've got Jermain, he's been bursting for a chance to get back in and play so hes got the opportunity to play," Redknapp said.
