Jermain Defoe is prepared to stay with Tottenham.
The Sunday Mirror says the England striker has two years left on his contract at White Hart Lane - but he is willing to extend his stay, if new manager Andre Villas-Boas is true to his word.
Villas-Boas - who has taken over from Harry Redknapp - took Defoe aside during the pre-season tour of North America to re-assure the 29-year-old that he still figures prominently in his first-team plans.
