Defoe feeling better under new Spurs boss Ramos

Jermain Defoe feels a different player under new Tottenham boss Juande Ramos.

Defoe revealed to the club's matchday programme that Ramos has impressed with his behind-the-scenes workouts.

"I think he is really good at what he does. We've had a few double sessions and the work that we've been doing is good," Defoe said.

"It's really intensive and we work a lot on tam shape. In all of the sessions the ball is involved and it's match-related too which will help us.

"We have also been working on defending as a team and hopefully that will make us more solid.

"You only have to look at what the gaffer did at Sevilla, that was quite impressive and he feels we have enough quality to achieve something similar. He's going to be good for this club and in fact, all the new staff seem really great. I'm sure they will take us."
