Jermain Defoe is open to a loan move away from Tottenham.
The People says Defoe will ask Tottenham to let him go out on loan - if Harry Redknapp leaves him on the bench in the opening weeks of the Premier League season.
Defoe, 28, is worried that a lack of action is harming his game and hitting his England chances and he is looking for a switch to a rival top-flight club.
He would pack his bags again and leave Spurs for a second time if the right club comes in with the offer of regular action, although he would prefer the loan option.
