Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe is delighted for teammate Danny Rose after his stunning goal against Arsenal.
Rose is the talk of the nation after his super goal on debut for Spurs.
Defoe told the Mirror: "No one was more pleased for Danny Rose after his wonder-goal against Arsenal than me.
"He has worked so hard, week-in, week-out in training and showed just how fantastic an attitude he has by never moaning, despite sitting on the bench on a regular basis and not getting a game.
"He is from Leeds, like Aaron Lennon and, like Azza, he is so relaxed.
"We worked on our shape in training before the Arsenal game and Danny played on the right. But he still had no idea and, more importantly, no expectations until it was confirmed he was in the team.
"I told him after the game that he fully deserves all the praise coming his way because he has most definitely earned it."
