Defoe delighted Spurs pal Huddlestone in England squad

Jermain Defoe is delighted Tottenham teammate Tom Huddlestone has joined him in the England squad this week.

Defoe has seen the progress the 22-year-old has made so far this season - a player who has started every game since the start of the campaign for Spurs.

The striker told the Spurs website: "Tom is a fantastic player and he deserves this call-up. He was in the squad last year against Trinidad & Tobago and did well in training and he is a natural footballer.

"If he gets the opportunity, he will be ready. He could force his way into contention for the World Cup and he scored a fantastic goal at the weekend, but ultimately it is up to the England Manager."

This is great news last month i predicted that we would win the world cup and hudds would star lets Hope its true. And all this rubbish about him being to slow is not true he sometimes looks slow in the prem because its artificially fast. This is because of UK sports rubbish testing and soon this will stop with a new way of testing the to 20 or thirty top footballers he never looked slow in Europe and starred in a weakened team playing against the eventual winners Shachtar Doneskte at Centre Half.
