Jermain Defoe was back to his scoring best with a double in Tottenham's 3-0 Europa League playoff qualifying win over Dinamo Tbilisi on Thursday night.
The England striker rifled home with his left foot in the 40th minute at White Hart Lane before adding a second on the stroke of half-time as Spurs cruised through to the group stage 8-0 on aggregate and he was delighted to play his role in the vital win.
"As a forward you get judged on scoring goals so it's always nice when you score," Defoe told ITV4.
"I got something that I needed. To get two goals was nice but it's what everyone needed.
"The most important thing is to win the game but we gave a good performance. The young guys coming though, it's been unbelievable."
