Jermain Defoe is considering his options at Tottenham.
Defoe admits he may have to leave Spurs to secure a place in England's Euros squad.
The striker told talkSPORT: "It has crossed my mind. Leading into a massive tournament you want to make sure you're on that plane. Having had that buzz before, you want it again.
"The problem is I just need to play regularly. The other forwards [in the England squad] are playing regularly and scoring goals so they deserve to be in the squad. So it's about me playing regularly and trying to get back in the squad."
He admits it would be tough to leave north London in search of first-team football, but concedes he may be left with no option.
He added: "I love the club. I'm Spurs through and through. I've been here for a number of years, my family love the club and the fans been with me since day one.
"It's difficult to think about leaving the club. When you're playing for a club you love it's such a great feeling. But I'm 29 now, I just need to be playing football regularly. That's all that matters."
