Defoe, Bradley in doubt as Toronto prepare for Dallas

Toronto FC head coach Ryan Nelsen was taking a cautious approach with two of his star players ahead of the weekend.

English striker Jermain Defoe has missed the past two MLS fixtures with a hamstring injury while American midfielder Michael Bradley was absent from the weekend's 1-0 loss to Colorado Rapids with a quadriceps problem.

The Canadian club, currently with three wins and two defeats, meet FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium on Saturday night with the Designated Player pair both under slight injury clouds which could prompt Nelsen to rest them ahead of a vital run of home fixtures.

"It's just Tuesday," Nelsen told reporters at the Kia Training Grounds.

"We've still got a long way to go, we've still got five days, so it's too early to make any predictions at the moment.

"We've got a couple weeks break after that game. We've really got to knuckle down. It's a really important time just to get everybody back fit.

"We've got four home games out of five after Dallas so we want everybody fit for that little segment there."
