Jose Mourinho believes his Manchester United side is struggling to deal with a number of injuries to defenders.
The Red Devils played with Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind at centre-back in Thursday night's 2-1 Europa League loss to Fenerbahce because of the fitness problems of Eric Bailly (knee) and Chris Smalling (foot).
Mourinho feels having two left-backs in the centre of defence is proving difficult to handle for his side who were well below their best in Istanbul.
"It is difficult to cope, having to play with two left-backs at centre-back," Mourinho said.
"This makes it tough to cope with the physicality of the game. To try and have the ball and create chances we made attacking changes but we could not create chances to score."
