Defensive assuredness wanted by QPR boss Hughes

QPR manager Mark Hughes has urged his players to improve defensively if they want to remain in the Premier League.

The West London club have already conceded 11 goals in 5 top flight outings this season plus three in last night's 3-2 Capital One Cup loss to Reading and Hughes is eyeing more assuredness in the back.

"We have conceded poor goals," he said.

"We need to be a little bit more understanding of what is required in those key areas of the field.

"Once we get that a lot of the other stuff of our play is very good, but obviously we need to tighten up defensively."
