Defence solid but forwards not good enough - Perth Glory's Ferguson

Perth Glory coach Ian Ferguson lamented the performance of his attacking players after yesterday's 1-0 home loss to Wellington Phoenix.

The Glory suffered their eighth defeat in nine matches due to a 1st minute Tim Brown stunner, consigning them to 8th on the table.

Ferguson was full of praise for his defenders but rued the fact his side were unable to score an equalizer despite creating a number of strong chances.

"Losing an early goal wasn't good. We defended well but just couldn't get the ball in the net," Ferguson said.

The Glory have improved in their past two matches but are still at rock bottom in regards to results which hopefully they can change on Wednesday against second-placed Adelaide United who have dropped their past two.
