Watford striker Troy Deeney rates Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk as the best he's faced this season.

Deeney made the claim on the The Big Interview Podcast.

"He is very tall, fast, full of confidence with the ball at his feet and does not shy away from a physical fight, he is the one who approaches being the most complete defender in the Premier League," said Deeney.

"He talks continuously, communication is very important for a defender and he says all those little things that people from the outside simply cannot see.

"I think Van Dijk is a huge improvement for this Liverpool."
