Watford striker Troy Deeney hailed their performance for victory at Burnley on Sunday.
Andre Gray struck on his return to Turf Moor as Watford scored away from home for the first time since January to continue their winning start to the Premier League season.
James Tarkowski canceled out Gray's opener before Watford settled the game with goals from Deeney and Will Hughes.
At the final whistle, Deeney was defiant.
He said, "You can't compare the two seasons. Last season we didn't all have a pre-season together, but this pre-season everybody put in the graft.
"You can see by our energy levels at the end."
