Deeney confident something big building at Watford

Watford captain Troy Deeney believes the club are building something special this season.

While some had expected Watford to struggle to remain in the division this campaign, they have started out with two wins in a row.

The 3-1 win over Burnley was particularly impressive. And captain Deeney believes it is the sign of things to come.

Deeney said to the club's official website: "It was just a carry on and extension from last week really.

"I thought we started the game really well and really bright. I think you can see what we're trying to do in terms of playing out and I think the first goal highlights that as there were four or five one-twos before Andre finished it.

"It was massive for us to kick-start this season and really emphasize what we know we're about. No one had a full pre-season last year – there were too many stop-starts and different situations and you can see the togetherness, which is massive.

"People don't generally give people much credit but the guys on the bench were fantastic today like your Mariappa's, Prodl's and Gomes', as they were screaming information onto the pitch and it helps us all. There's a real togetherness building and it's a massive three points."
