Deco urges Chelsea to give Scolari time

Deco has urged the Chelsea board to stand by manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.

"I insist that we must give time for Scolari to work," he told the Daily Star. "He has only been a few months at Chelsea and he is not a bad coach.

"In the early days, people spoke well of his systems and the team's performances - and we cannot be as bad as many say."

The Blues were soundly beaten by Manchester United in their last league outing, and had a hiccup in the FA Cup, being held to a 1-1 draw at home to League OneSouthend.

But they beat the Shrimpers 4-1 in the replay and Deco believes that the below-par performances have been just a blip.

"It is true that in recent weeks we haven't done as well but there is no crisis at Chelsea," he added.

"True, we lost at Manchester, but the league is not lost. We will have more opportunities."
