Deco critical of Chelsea decision to sack Scolari

Unsettled Chelsea ace Deco feels Chelsea were unwise to sack Luiz Felipe Scolari just seven months after he was appointed as manager. The Portugal international midfielder believes the Blues need stability if they want success.

Sometimes Abramovich makes decisions that go over the head of the director of football. The exit of "Big Phil" was rash," Deco is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.

"Chelsea are a special club. If "Big Phil" was perhaps at Manchester United or Liverpool, they respect the coach and give him time to work.

"You look at [Arsenal boss Arsene] Wenger, who for five years hasn't won anything. [Liverpool boss Rafa] Benitez has never won the English championship.

"Chelsea are different, a special club who have a single owner and they are kind of his toy."
