Decision by end of week on vacant Falkirk post

Falkirk hope to have their new manager in place by the end of the week. Steven Pressley and Eddie May, who heads the club's youth development programme, have emerged as the leading contenders for the job, possibly as a partnership.

A statement on the club's official website said: "Negotiations are ongoing in the appointment of the new Falkirk manager. Falkirk Football Club hopes to be in a position by the end of this week to announce the appointment of the new manager.

"The club have taken their time in making this appointment and will not be rushed into a decision. The club will only announce the appointment once all appropriate negotiations have been confirmed."
