Debuchy 'convinced' Arsenal can challenge for premiership next term

Mathieu Debuchy believes Arsenal are capable of launching a genuine title challenge next season.

The Gunners currently sit third on the Premier League table, 13 points behind champions Chelsea, and equal with Manchester City with four fixtures remaining.

With a game in hand on their rivals, Arsene Wenger's Arsenal have the odds with them to finish second but right-back Debuchy is planning to go one better in 2015/16.

"I am convinced that we will challenge for the title [next season]," Debuchy told Arsenal Player.

"Every big club wants to win it, Arsenal is a big club and it is definitely a target for us all.

The France international added: "Of course it is not finished yet but so far, it is a good season.

"We have picked up a lot of wins, a lot of good results.

"I really hope we can carry on playing well until the end, and if we do we will say it was a good season."

Arsenal next face Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night.
