Piet de Visser has revealed he won Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich's trust by telling him some home truths
De Visser is now regarded as Chelsea's chief scout and advisor.
"When he bought Chelsea, a friend said to him, 'You know nothing about football, you need to find a top scout'," recalled De Visser.
"I got an invitation for an interview with Abramovich and for a half an hour I burned up his entire team.
"Other people said I could not talk like this. But for the boss, he was fine.
"'When can you start?' he asked. 'Right now,' I said."
