De Rossi has one good memory from Roma's 7-1 thrashing by Man Utd

AS Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi admits he has a fond memory from their infamous 7-1 Champions League defeat at Manchester United.

De Rossi is proud to be a one-club man for the Giallorossi.

"The games I remember most are team victories, not the games in which I scored.

"I scored possibly the best goal of my career at Old Trafford [against Manchester United in 2007] when we lost 7-1, so I can't say I remember that match fondly despite the nice goal I scored.

"I have happy memories of the Real Madrid v Roma match which we won 2-1 to qualify for the next round, or the 2-0 win over Livorno, or the other Madrid v Roma match which we won 2-1.

"They're usually matches where we had to play for our lives, when we were the underdogs, when we defied expectations and made our fans happy."
