AS Roma may be forced to include a low buyout clause in Daniele de Rossi's contract if they're to get his signature on a new deal.
Agent Sergio Berti will hold more talks with Roma GM Franco Baldini this week as the two parties attempt to find common ground.
De Rossi is now pushing for a €15 million buyout clause to be included in any new agreement, which so far Roma have refused.
Berti is prepared for De Rossi to re-sign, but Roma management are reluctant to commit to the get-out option on the table.
The midfielder remains a top target for Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini.
