Ruben de la Red admits he returned to Real Madrid to prove doubters wrong.

The midfielder has been outstanding since his move from Getafe in the summer and said: "Being honest, I did have some very good offers.

"And some of the interest guaranteed me more minutes than what I was expecting at Madrid. But even after that, I wanted to return Madrid. It was a matter of pride.

"I've been here for a long time and I am still one of the Madrid juniors. I have to succeed here and I will not stop until I make it."
