Espanyol veteran midfielder Ivan de la Pena has paid tribute to departing club captain Raul Tamudo.

Striker Tamudo will leave Espanyol this summer.

"I spent eight wonderful years with him and the team achieved great things," De la Pena told Sport.

"He is one of the best players in the club's history. He has given everything and we will not forget his greatness. It's strange, but this is football."
