Nigel de Jong has made it very clear that he is looking to stay with English champions Manchester City.
The Dutch midfielder, who was part of the Holland team who went without a point at Euro2012, has one year left on his City deal and has not yet come to an agreement regarding an extension.
But he is adamant that he is happy to play out the remainder of his contract at Eastlands even though he spends a lot of time on the bench as part of a squad rotation system.
"I want to stay [at Manchester City]. I've been at the club for three years and I'm feeling really well. I have won the FA Cup and the league title, which are the biggest trophies in England."
He added: "It's part of the job that I occasionally warm the bench. We have a squad rotation system. I prefer to play all games, but it's all about the team.
"We eventually won the title, so it was worth it.""My contract runs for another year, so I'm in a pretty good position," de Jong told NUsport.
