Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea could be €15 million richer today after seeing his move to Real Madrid breakdown last night.
Sport says De Gea and Real president Florentino Perez had an agreement this summer that if the keeper was not signed by the Spanish giants before yesterday's deadline, he would be due a penalty fee.
And the amount agreed to was €15 million.
The only problem for De Gea, should he insist Real cough up, is that the alleged agreement was struck outside of UEFA's laws.
A January move to Real for the Spaniard could still happen, despite this morning's frustration.
