David de Gea is pushing to have a buyout clause included in his new Manchester United deal.
And the goalkeeper wants to make it affordable, so giving him control of his destiny.
The Sunday Mirror says United have offered the 24-year-old a £200,000 a week basic wage deal and agreed to include a release clause.
But De Gea's advisers are unwilling to agree to United's demand that the buy-out should be pitched at £50m. They would prefer it to be closer to £25m.
