Gigi de Canio hopes to stay with Genoa reshape the squad this summer.

De Canio is already looking to an extended future with the Marassi outfit.

"I hope to build a project and I can do that with [President Enrico] Preziosi," the Coach told La Repubblica on Monday.

"My destiny is strange as for so many years I have had good seasons at clubs and now I'm having to start by assisting someone.

"The conditions are there, also because Genoa has various players returning from loan that will add depth to the team. They also have many young people. I hope to participate in the project, but I'm not one to cling to contracts."
