Gigi de Canio expects to stay with Lecce.

The Salentini made sure of Serie A survival thanks to a 2-0 win away at rivals Bari.

"I still have two years left on my contract and we should continue together," said De Canio.

De Canio has had a campaign to remember after having his resignation request rejected by the club in late 2010.

"That decision wasn't associated with the results," he told Rai. "It was because of my difficulties with the President.

"Perhaps I pushed too much. I felt that I was in difficulty.

"However, he calmed me down and told me that these things could happen. He said that it wasn't right to opt for such a solution."
