De Bruyne plays down apparent rift at Man City

Kevin De Bruyne does not believe there are any issues with team Vincent Kompany and manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Reports suggest the relationship between the Manchester City pair has been soured after Kompany chose to play for Belgium in a recent Euro2016 qualifier after spending time on the sidelines with his club because of a calf problem.

Kompany has subsequently started on the bench for City's past two matches, indicating there is a rift, but De Bruyne says he does not see any real dilemma.

"Vinny will play his games. I don't know what they talked about together, so maybe Vinny will be there on Sunday," said De Bruyne ahead of the weekend's Manchester derby.

"I don't know, that is something between the manager and him.

"Maybe he wants him to train a little bit to be fully fit without any risks. I don't see any problems at the moment.''

When quizzed further as to Kompany's state of mind, De Bruyne added: "He is acting normal.

"I think everything is fine.''
