De Biasi delighted with Torino move

Gianni de Biasi was unveiled as new coach of crisis club Torino yesterday.

De Biasi replaced Walter Novellino at the helm today and begins his third spell at the club charged with the task of keeping Toro in Serie A.

"The side has quality that it obviously hasn't managed to show," he insisted at his introductory Press conference. "We need to call on motivation, pride and personal dignity.

"Turin has been an important stage in my professional life. I have done well here in the past and I hope to do so in the future."

The Italian left his job at Spain's Levante to accept the Torino role and added: "In the next two games we play Inter and Roma, but we need to pick up points from the off.

"It will be difficult, but it isn't always the strongest who win in life. We will have to play intelligently and make the most of the chances we have.

"Levante was a difficult but extraordinary experience," he explained. "I just couldn't miss the chance to come back to Toro.

"In Spain I met some marvellous people, but now it is time to concentrate on the Granata."
