DC United stars De Rosario, Hamid call for change

Dwayne De Rosario and Bill Hamid are determined to change things for the better at DC United.

The Washington club finished the 2013 MLS season with a woeful points tally of 16 from 34 matches, including three wins - the fewest in a campaign since the competition's inception.

DC stars De Rosario and Hamid admitted 2013 was simply not good enough as they strive to put things right in 2014.

"A lot of things definitely need to change, so hopefully we can work on those things," said skipper De Rosario.

"I think it's a combination of a lot of things. I think a lot of us could do a lot of improvement in the offseason, mentally, physically, preparation-wise."

While De Rosario was more pragmatic regarding the club's current plight, Hamid chose to wear his heart on his sleeve.

"That record, man, I'm sorry, but it [expletive] sucks," Hamid said.

"This season has now been forgotten in my brain, to be honest with you. I'm sure every single one of us are in the same boat because thinking about this is depressing. 2014, that's where the thoughts are right now."
