Former Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney says he deserved his driving ban last season.
Rooney says he deserved to be given 100 hours of community service for drink driving — admitting it has given him a different perspective on life.
The ex-England and United skipper was also slapped with a two-year driving ban for the offence last September.
The DC United striker told the Daily Mail: "I deserved the community service for what I'd done, but I did wonder how it would go.
"I went to a garden centre at Macclesfield, working with adults with learning difficulties, so I was just helping with different things, whether it was planting seeds or making Christmas decorations with them.
"To do something with people who aren't as privileged as we are was great.
"They sent me a video last week of them dancing. It was something I never thought I'd do."
