MLS club DC United look set to release Australian striker Danny Allsopp.

The 32-year old attacker joined DC from Qatari club Al Rayyan prior to the 2010 MLS season starting earlier this year but it looks as though he will not be given a new contract.

The Washington club experienced a horror year, finishing with the worst record in MLS, winning just six matches out of 30.

Allsopp had a decent season, scoring five goals in 23 appearances, but the club look set to shake things up ahead of 2011 and the former Melbourne Victory star is likely to be a part of that overhaul.
