DC United see red twice in friendly thumping

D.C. United not only fell 3-0 to Real Salt Lake in a preseason friendly but also suffered two red card dismissals and three injuries during the match. Early in the game goalkeeper Louis Crayton damaged his quad trying to strike a ball. He was unable to continue and was replaced by trialist Nic Platter. Midway through the first half D.C United midfielder Fred pulled his hamstring and was removed from the game.

With game still scoreless before half time D.C. United's Dejan Jakovic was sent off for dangerous play.

Real Salt Lake took the lead through a Luis Escalada header early in the second half. D.C. United's Santino Quaranta was injured in the second half clearing a RSL attack.

Yura Movsisyan secured the victory for RSL claiming his team's second goal of the half. To cap off a frustrating evening for D.C United Anthony Peters was sent off for a professional foul and the resulting free kick was curled into the upper left corner by Andy Williams to finish off D.C 3-0.
