DC United's Santino Quaranta has undergone surgery to repair a ruptured plantar plate in his left foot.

The 25-year old midfielder/forward is expected to make a full recovery from the surgery and DC anticipate he will be back in action within 4-6 to months.

Quaranta suffered a similar injury on his right foot in 2006 so he is aware of the rehabilitation that is required to back to the top level.

His form has been solid for DC this season, scoring twice and providing six assists in 19 starts - he also represented the USA national team on four occasions.
