DC United's Thabiso "Boyzzz" Khumalo has received his Green Card, freeing up an international roster spot on the club roster.

As a United States Permanent Resident, Khumalo no longer counts as an international player. The South African initially signed with the Black-and-Red on September 12, 2008.

Khumalo has proven to be an effective attacking asset since signing with United towards the end of the team's 2008 campaign. Seeing time in the midfield and at forward, Khumalo was a big part of the team's 2009 U.S. Open Cup run. After suffering an injury that sidelined him for nine weeks last season, Khumalo returned as a potent weapon for United, racking up numerous goals and assists en route to the 2009 U.S. Open Cup final.

Prior to his time with United, the South African-born player rocketed from his stellar college career during which he earned First Team NAIA All-American, All-Region, and Mid-South Conference honors at Lindsay Wilson College in Kentucky. Khumalo later transferred to Coastal Carolina University, where he started 23 of 26 matches, tallying 16 assists in two seasons. His professional experience ranges from playing for the Wilmington Hammerheads (USL-2) to the SAFA Vodacom League in South Africa and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL-2).
