DC United have released midfielder Christian Castillo.

The 25-year old Salvadoran winger's time at the Washington club has ended and he will now return to homeland club Leon.

Castillo made 10 league appearances for DC as well as two US Open Cup starts scoring once.

General manager Dave Kasper thanked Castillo and wished him all the best for his future endeavours.

"We would like to thank Christian for his time at D.C. United, and we wish him the best of luck in his playing career," Kasper said.
