DC United players fine despite infighting

An on-field fight between DC United players Josh Wicks and Marc Burch in the team's 1-0 win over Chicago Fire on the weekend has been played down.

Goalkeeper Wicks and defender Burch were seen to be arguing and shoving during the dying stages of the match but coach Tom Soehn says there are no problems between the two.

"They were really excited about the game, so sometimes emotions get the better of you, but inside [the locker room], they are hugging," Soehn said, attempting to make light of the incident. "It's an emotional game. No problems."

Burch added: "Everything is fine." Wicks said he didn't want to comment.

United midfielder Ben Olsen also commented on the situation, saying emotions are just a part of the game sometimes.

"We were wound pretty tight the last couple days," Olsen said.

"We really wanted this and sometimes it spills over. It shows that guys care. People get pretty intense during stressful times. I don't like to see it, but it happens."
